Dirty water experiment

Filtration is separating solids from liquids by adding a medium through which only the liquid can pass. 

Examples are:

1. Water jug
2. Pools
3. Water pump
4. Fish tank

Materials

1. Bottle

2. Scissors 

3. Filter paper

4. Sand

5. Pebbles/little stones

6. Dirty water

Process - ( use verbs or doing words in each step )

Step 1

Cut the bottle at the bottom of the sticker creating a funnel.

Step 2

Put the funnel into the container.

STEP 3

Fold a piece of filter paper and put it in the bottom of the bottle neck.

STEP 4

 Add a layer of sand into the filter paper and gently pat it down.

STEP 5

Add pebbles then gently blow it so there is no dust in there and pat it so it is smooth.

STEP 6

Pour dirty water and poor into the bottle and wait for it to be all out of it and then repeat 3-5 times.

Measurements

Write a short sentence about the water every 1 minute. 

Include 'How much water has filtered through', 'How fast it is dripping through', and 'How clear the water is'.

Warning

Make sure that an adult cuts the bottle in half. This water filter is just an experiment and should not be used for drinking water.

Avoid using charcoal briquets, as these can contain chemicals you don't want in your water. Use the activated carbon for water purifiers instead.

About Stop Motion

In the last week we had to make a stop motion animation say...
What is stop motion? 
This is the google definition of Stop motion.
a cinematographic technique whereby the camera is repeatedly stopped and started, for example to give animated figures the impression of movement.

What have you done so far?
So far we have been doing our story boards (planning) and talking about what we are going to use and we have also been talking about camera angels as well.

What do you still need to do?
we need to still plan and then we need to do the proper video and we have to do the talking of the character but the important thing is that we need to do the script.

Brief outline of your story
First in the story there is a character named Dellor and he rages to fortnite and he smashed his keyboard and went to walmart and said to boy if he could replace his keyboard. so after he went to KFC and asked if he could get a quarter pounder with a keyboard on the side.

waitangi day

For the last 3 days at school we were learning about waitangi day and we had to get a reading booklet and we had to find answers in the reading.

K. Waitangi day is a holiday about the maori people.

W. Why do we have this day called waitangi day?

    What did the maori people do, to make it waitangi day?

L. what I learnt is that they signed the treaty and it became a holiday/day off.

Here are two words I didn’t know and I researched so I know what they mean.

-Re-enact means that if you watch a movie at the end you tell your friends instead of telling them you can act it out.

-Nationwide means if you want to share news and you want to share it to everyone you share it to the nation.

Are Waitangi day celebrations always peaceful

2. No because everyone talks about the treaty of what Waitangi day is about.

Main idea is people having discussions.

1. The treaty was signed by the maori at 1840.
2. They were fighting about what the name should be.
